Dr. Tomasula is the founder and director of LiveWell Psychology, PLLC. She is a licensed psychologist who received her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology from Bucknell University. She earned her doctoral degree in Health Psychology with a specialization in Pediatric School Psychology from East Carolina University. Dr. Tomasula completed her predoctoral internship in specialized educational settings within North Carolina (NC)’s public school systems. Her postdoctoral fellowship was completed in the pediatric integrated primary care setting at a Federally Qualified Health Center in rural NC. For the past six years, Dr. Tomasula has held a dual role at WakeMed as a practicing psychologist on the Pediatric Weight Management team as well as creating and managing the Outpatient Behavioral Health department.
Throughout her career, Dr. Tomasula has provided system-wide training and consultation on a myriad of topics, including depression screening, suicide risk assessment, the integration of behavioral health services in school and medical settings, internalized weight stigma and the impact of societal bias, and motivational interviewing.
Her professional interests include psychological and behavioral interventions for health and wellness, sleep disturbances, adjustment to new or chronic health conditions, developmental and psychological assessment, suicide prevention, and integrated care. Dr. Tomasula is a member of The Obesity Society, American Psychological Association, the National Register of Health Service Psychologists, and the North Carolina Psychological Association.
In her time away from work, Dr. Tomasula enjoys spending time outside with her husband and two children, traveling to visit friends and extended family, and laughing with others as often as possible.
